Disclosures

v1 - 08/01/2011

The FCC, vendors and other miscellaneous entities require public disclosures for participation in events, expenses paid, free gifts, etc. I also believe that if I expect other reviewers, bloggers, government officials and others I trust to be transparent with freebies and other possible influences, that I must, too. This falls in line with the belief in the Blog With Integrity philosophy. This will hopefully help you trust that my words are my honest thoughts on a product or event and not biased based on material relationships.

While I may use, purchase, glowingly review or otherwise give off fuzzy feelings about products or services, these are not recommendations or endorsements. All of my reviews, thoughts and words are my own, not my employer's. I reserve the right to change my mind. This can be based on changes to the product, my own expanded knowledge of a product, interactions with people or any other reason. I promise to never delete any article. If information changes or is shown to be incorrect, I will amend the original article (with a strike through and/or note at the end of the original piece). In some cases, if warranted, I will create a follow-up post. I also promise never to delete any comments unless they are spam or offensive. I'm open to debate and even argument, as long as it's civil. It's one thing to attack an idea, but something else to attack a person.

Current Disclosures

As an independent consultant, I attended Tech Field Day 7 in Austin, TX. Although my travel, meal and lodging expenses were covered by the event via corporate sponsorship, I received no compensation. I am under no obligation or expectation to write about any of the sponsors.

As an independent consultant, I have received evaluation and in some cases fully licensed software from SolarWinds, Dell, VMware and others for evaluation in my employers lab environment. The results and my experiences of using these softwares as well as our decision to use or not use may be posted about here.
